The Lake District is the largest and probably the most loved of our National Parks. Breath-taking landscape, mountains, lakes and picturesque market towns it holds something for everyone, no wonder it inspired the work of Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter, John Ruskin and so many of our finest writers and artists.

It is an area rich in cultural heritage and offers many fascinating days out, whether your interest is in Stately Homes and Topiary Garden, Steam Railways or Wild Life you will find it in the Lake District.

For those a little more energetic you will find excellent walking, sailing, horse riding and cycling in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the country, if not the world – we are a bit biased! When you arrive we will be happy to recommend the best places to go and interesting walks to take (Don't forget your Wainwright guides).
